Midnite B’day Bash

At the stroke of midnite…T2 woke me up for a surprise. She gave me an amazing midnite b’day party. Yep, today I celebrate my b’day, and what better way to start this day but get gifts and cake and balloons and all that in absolutely romantic candle lit ambience. Thank you T2 for being such a lovely wife.

Info Connect 2007 Kuwait
Just came back from InfoConnect 2007 exhibition at the Mishref fair-grounds. Why am I not surprised to see the lack luster exhibition? I don’t think Kuwait’s IT sector is mature enough  to be part of any of these exhibitions held in Kuwait. The most active stalls are always the mobile phone vendors. Apart from that even big-wigs like Microsoft had terrible time at their stall. They had zero attendees attraction in terms of Vista releases. Apart from all this the active stalls were from QualityNet and Eureka. Surprisingly MTC and Fasttelco were missing. Wataniya has set up an outrageous L-shaped stall which is like probably 30 to 40 meters long, and all they are doing is promoting WNet and it sucks anyhow. I wonder why MTC let go of their e-go launch at this exhibition. There were no enterprise level vendors for system solutions and hardware. Apple were totally invisible too. If you have some free time to kill and nothing productive to do, drop by at InfoConnect, but best bets are for ignoring it completely.

WTF: Two Tall & Short

Some smart-arse decided to make a quick buck out of the two unique guys and hell lot of curious onlookers at the City Center Salmiya yesterday. He had with him according to by-standers the tallest dude in GCC and the shortest one too. If you wanted a pix with the two personnas, the photographer [of course without permit] would oblige for 1 KD/- a pop. By the looks of it, he made a good profit out of these two. I could somehow feel a sadness on the faces of the two guys. It kind of reminded of me Museum of Freaks where profit-monger owners would subject people with deformities and/or skills to public display for showmanship. Best of luck you two.

p.s. The red shirt kid was a by-stander

Movie Review : The Good Shepherd

Very decent presentation from Robert De Niro. Good performances by Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie. Storyline is captivating, visuals are superb. Although the makeup of Angelina was far more effective in showing the transition of her age from a young lady to more mature woman, but somehow I couldn’t visualize Matt Damon as aging along with her. He seemed too young for her. The story revolves around the evolution of CIA from small-scale agency to a more powerful global scale enterprise. What I liked about the movie most was its photography and slow pace of story telling which instead of boring me, kept on the edge of the seat. A definitely ,must see movie.
