This time while flying to-n-fro Kuwait-India, I chose Jet Airways. Jet Airways is a new entrant in the Kuwait-India sector. Although they have been around in Indian sub-continent for last couple of years. Currently they are ranked number 2 in the Indian domestic sector. They have very competitive tarriffs as compared to other domestic airlines. Ofcourse the leader in the Indian domestic sector is the public venture Indian Airlines. Indian Airlines is also flying the Kuwait-India sector. So there is stiff competition brewing up now with Kuwait Airways and Jazeera as the outsiders.

First things first..the air-fare. Well I got my tickets booked early so got a great deal on KD 77 for return tickets including taxes. Comparing that with other airlines the air-fare was between KD 80-110 including taxes at the time of booking. Although if you book tickets for July-August the airfares for all the airlines are hovering in KD 100-130 bracket for economy return which includes Jet as well.

Service onboard was the best part for me, as it was really immpeccable, with very well mannered staff, great food and onboard entertainment per seat. Till now only Emirates has been offering this for the Kuwait-Dubai-India sector. Onboard entertainment had selections from latest Hollywood and Bollywood flicks, to games for kids, to games for adults, movie shorts, and good library for music selections from Indian, Western, and classical. 3 hours 25 minutes of flight time was a breeze with such assortment of entertainment. The seating arrangement for economy is 3 by 3.

Flight was on time both ways, and connections were available in domestic sector from Jet Airways. This is important for most of the travellers as Jet allows you to book connecting domestic flights with International bookings.

Flying back I was able to upgrade to Premiere class [business], which proved to be even better exposure to, as the name suggests, premiere class of service. Gourmet meal, a good selection of beverages, with better 2 by 2 reclining seats, and ofcourse smiling & friendly service.

One thing that has been really lacking in Kuwait-India sector with current cariers has been the quality of onboard service. In Jazeera you would have to pay for every thing, in Kuwait Airways its the stiff upper-lip service, in Indian Airlines its the outsourced service [yep they have outsourced it to certain East European country]. Emirates ofcourse has been offering the best in-class service but travelling via-Dubai has always been a waste of time [nearly extra 1-2 hours on a straight 3 hour trip].

Overall my experience with Jet Airways has got them as my preferred carier from now on with hopes that they continue to offer great service that they have begun with.
