India World Cricket Champions 2011

Oh what a day, what a match, what a team…India finally had its dream delivered yesterday, by winning the highest of the trophies in Circketing World, the coveted World Cup of 50 overs one day cricket tournament. Indian team beat an outstanding Sri Lankan team which batted first. Sri Lanka scored 274 for 6, which India chased in the second innings and won by scoring 277/4 in 48.2 overs.

The Final was momentous in history as a chasing team has the least chances of scoring a victory, but Indian batsmen were upto the task and managed to cover the chase. The amazing knock from Gautam Ghambhir [97] and an unbeating blazes from Indian Captain M.S. Dhoni [91*] raced India to the finishing line. And what way to score to the winning runs from the Indian Captain, who knocked the ball out of the field for a six.

Overall a heart-stopper, a beautiful game.
