Dean & Deluca

I was invited over at the re-opened Dean & Deluca today to check out the revamped place and also try out the food from their new menu. First impression about the place, Dean & Deluca has just become big, well not exactly, its the same space but the reorganizing of things now makes it look a lot bigger than before. Some of the new features that they have added are open kitchen spaces. From the pizza ovens to sushi counter to bakery to shawerma spot, everything is in plain view. The beauty of this is you see can see the preparations taking place right in front of you and one can catch on the fantastic aromas of various foods all over.

One of the big plus with this reorganizing is that now there is seating available from the outside to right at the end of the joint. Although the queues are always for the outside seating space, but I found seating space deep inside to be as convenient.

They have also lined up a wide selection of chocolates, savories, and sweets from beautifully hand made and decorated imported chocolates to dozens of types of dates to local sweets to cupcakes. An absolute must is to try out their imported hand crafted chocolates.

Now one food that is an absolute must is the shwermas that they are now offering. Basically each shwerma is as good as as a complete meal, as its 150gm of meat with mushrooms with kashkawan cheese, wrapped in freshly prepared saj. Beautifully served with fries, dip and pickles, the meats just melt in your mouth.

From their pizza corner try out the sea food pizza, prepared with shrimps, calamari, in full flavorful sauce, laid on thin and succulent pizza base with a hint of charcoal aroma from the oven. It’s a pizza lovers paradise. Ofcourse they do have vegetarian one, and I recommend you give it a try as well.

If you love sushi you will love the generous helpings of freshly prepared sushi meals. I tried the one with fried crab fingers and it was a heavenly. And for the sweet tooth, apart from hundreds of varieties of chocolates, they have this treasure called the ’7 Wonders’ which is an assortment of chocolates, mango, and tea flavored sweets with sauces. Bear in mind the whole serving is good enough for four people though.

Overall its a fantastic change of both the place and the menu, and I am definetly going back to Dean & Deluca  for the shwermas and the sushi. Here are some pics from the event.
