Day 2: IPod with Kubuntu

Submitted by DA on Thursday, 7 June 2007No Comment

Black IPod Video 80Gb

GPixPod

Amarok

IPod works like a charm with Kubuntu. Its just a matter of using the right software for managing both Music and Photos. To manage music I use Amarok and for photo management GPixPod. Both these have seamless integration with IPod. Although ITunes has many more features and especially connects to ITunes Store, I dont mind not using ITunes. There is a solution to this problem if you use CrossOver suite which simulates Windows environment for installation of Windows based software. Anyhow my IPod now has a collection of over 7000 music titles, nearly 50 video clips/movies, around 25 Podcasts and my entire photo collection, around 1500 of them. Its like walking around with complete media box all shrunk into one sexy gizmo. Tomorrow we are off to Doha Entertainment City and I am carrying my IPod with me to keep family entertained all the way.
