Did any one feel mild tremor in Kuwait at 1:45am?

Submitted by DA on Saturday, 18 August 2007View Comments

I dont believe this…I was working late night and I had a weird giddy feeling of something vibrating. Then all of sudden I heard the mild clanking of serving spoons in kitchen which I hang on the wall. I am pretty sure we had a very mild tremor in Kuwait at 1:45 am. Waiting for some info from geology / met department now. Hope this is just one off thing…

UPDATES: Its confirmed that Kuwait – Saudia Arabia border was hit with 4.3 earthquake. Details here [LINK]

Yeah, i felt it too in Kuwait. we were awake in bed and it was shaking for a few seconds. I dont think people who were sleeping could have felt it.
I think the time was closer to 1:50 am though.
After a while, i saw lot of people including entire familier in their nite clothes out of their buildings, on the road.
After about 10 minutes, my wife swears she felt another one though i didnt feel any. I was out of bed by then.

Yes, it was at 1:45 am. And the second on at 2:00 am. The first one shook my bed from side to side.. The second one shook my bed from lenth to lenth. They were just mild enough that could have been felt only by those awake.

I even have felt it… lolz I was bit sceptical to say as I couldn’t make out is it a real tremor or just my imagination. My father generally has very cautious sleep & at that moments he didn’t wake up that time. Hence I had doubt.

These comments have surely restated that tremor has shaken Kuwait!

Yes, it woke me up from my sleep and I was wondering if I was dreaming of an earthquake becos by the time I woke up, it had subsided. So I thought I was really dreaming becos I am quite paranoid about earthquakes.

yes, i felt it too; in salmiya. strange as it really rattled me and kept thinking was it something i just felt or was it a quake nearby in Iran or Iraq. surprised to know it was at Kuwait – Saudi Border. really strange. Are they doing excessively oil drilling and creating a vacuum underground?
hope not otherwise we will be creating a earthquake prone area!

Yes i felt the tremors between 1:45 & 1:50 am. First i thought i was dreaming as I was watching the news about the Peru Earthquake just before going to sleep. So i didnt inform anyone in the house as all were fast asleep. Then in the morning my Mom said she felt it too so did some collegues at work. Then i was sure there was a tremor which lasted for a few seconds.
