DSL prices in Kuwait November 2007

Submitted by DA on Thursday, 25 October 20073 Comments

Since our last check it seems United Networks is really pushing into the market with extreme discounts. This is good news for the consumers as they are getting better value for money. Still Kuwait market is very expensive in comparison to International market prices.

Interesting offers are 2Mb from United Networks for half the price of other ISP’s, around KD 600. Also as usual FastTelco is most expensive of the lot, Qualitynet is squeezed between the ISP’s. KEMS stands out for offering multiple features ADSL+WiFI+DialUp in the package. Also KEMS is offering upto 4Mb connections, and pricing blocks for upto 8Mb are seen with them.

I am shopping for DSL and lets see if I can get a good pricing from United Networks or KEMS.

Are you fed by your employer?

I’m shopping for DSL too and still not sure whats best, trying to find any kind of special offers kinda. a 2mb connection for 450kd/year would be a bit reasonable
i have only tried united when it first came out and it was the worst experience i had but people say it changed alot, on the other hand i hear lots of good stuff about kems but then i’ll be forced to get the 1mb offer because the 2mb price is just too much, i’m definetly not gonna try Qnet again because of their unstable prices which makes me regret buying any offer from them at all, last year just before the summer started by 1 week i subscribed for 6 months 512kb connection. 1 week later the double bandwith offer came out so i could have gotten a 1mb connection for same price i paid . called them but they refused to even talk about it

@Kira: KEMS would be my choice as they offer good speeds, good pricing, and support is great. Also you get free Wi-Fi service which is pretty useful when you are in public places and they have Zajil wi-fi availability.

I agree on the part that KEMS offer the best price and speed, but not the support. I bought the service on 16 jan 2008 with a promise that i will be connected on the 23 Jan 2008 (starting date of the service). I called and checked 23 Jan morning (they were suppose to call me but they didn’t) and YES! they said i have the signal and can go ahead with the connection. But sadly it turned out that I didn’t get any dsl signal as informed. I called them, they promised me that the engineer would go the the Ministry of Communications first thing in the morning of 24 jan and get it fixed and would call me if it’s done. I am waiting but there’s no reply. Right now i want to get my money back and maybe go with other ISP eventhough it’s more expensive.
