Expats flee Dubai leaving cars at airport

Dubai is facing the onslaught of the Global Economic crisis and the worst fared are the expats who have been living a high-n-dry dream with home loans, car loans, and credit card balances. In the last 4 months or so around 3000 cars have been left outside the aiport with keys in the ignition and notes stuck on windshields with creditor details. Expats are escaping the hammering repayments after a tidal job cuts in Dubai.
Some of the expats are trying to leave the cars around the corner from the airport, and hail cabs to the airport. Most of the expats are from South East Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Dubai has already lost the glitz of real estate, and property prices are nose diving.
