Freedom of Press: Kuwait leads in Arab Penninsula

Submitted by DA on Tuesday, 10 April 2007No Comment

But except for Yemen and Saudi Arabia (161st),
all the Arab peninsula countries considerably improved their rank.
Kuwait (73rd) kept its place at the top of the group, just ahead of the
United Arab Emirates (77th) and Qatar (80th).

According to Reporter Without Borders Kuwait is considered a leading nation as far as freedom of press is concerned in Arabian Penninsula. I wonder how many of would agree to this. I do agree when compared to black holes like Saudi Arabia, but putting Kuwait ahead of countries like UAE, India, Lebanon, Bahrain, Singapore is a bit surprising. Anyways here is the full list of countries and their ranks [LINK]
