Update: There is definitely a performance boost after installing SP3! Lets hope its much better after full release.

Windows XP SP3 – Release Candidate is available to limited users only. But now you can download and install the Service Pack 3 if you follow the steps below.

1. Download this [LINK] patch file
2. UnZip the file and double-click on the WinXP_SP3_Patch.cmd file
3. This will make minor changes to your registry only
4. Start Internet Explorer and select TOOLS > Windows Update or go to this site [LINK]
5. Let the site install and update your machine with any patches and updates
6. The site may also ask to update Windows Update tool, let it update that too
7. In case the Microsoft gets stuck while checking for updates close the browser and start your browser again
8. Internet Explorer should automatically be able to indicate Win XP SP3 as available download [see the pic above]
9. Download XP SP3, this is about 70 Mb..install and enjoy
