iTable like other ‘i’ prefixed gizmos is not from Apple, its from PQ Labs. Yet iTable is very impressive. Now iTable is a strong competitor to Microsoft Surface which surfaced [no pun intented] in 2007, but has since been available for ‘commercial’ use only. Where as iTable is targeted towards both premium home and commercial users. Microsoft Surface would set you back around US$ 12,500 per piece. And even so Microsoft Surface is based on the cataclysmic Windows Vista software system.

Now as for iTable one very important thing, ITS NOT A LCD SCREEN, iTable is a new product from PQ Labs which has Multi Touch screen overlay on top of LCD with size upto 32″ to 52″. So what you get is a window like frame which you can mount over your screen and interact with the main computer. iTable is priced at around US$ 2500, still an expensive addition to for your home use, but very affordable for business use. PQ Labs is planning a lowered cost version targeted more towards, home users. iTable comes with software versions for both Windows and MacOS.

Overall the interactivity offered by iTable is fluid, and would attract lot of business users. Its always a better option to have something like this for trade shows, presentations, conferences without investing in expensive hardware. Here is a breakdown of iTable technical specification:
