		<description>Gandhi's heart was in the right place, but he underestimated the brutality of Nazi Germany and the general legality with which Jews purchased land in Palestine. I can hardly fault him for these oversights. However, if the hypothetical European Jew who took his advice in 1938 was most likely murdered, while the hypothetical European Jew who read the writing on the wall and migrated to Palestine most likely survived.

That is not to say that Israel was justified in all its actions, but in my opinion I'd have preferred to be alive and labeled an aggressor than to be cremated at the hands of the Nazis.
