As usual the grand old man never ceases to amaze us with his balanced views. Amazing letter from Mahatma Gandhi on the Arab-Israeli conflict circa 1938. It should be read and printed and passed on to all involved in this region.

Amazing “wholesome”ness in understanding an issue. If only more world leaders in our times had a fraction of this, the world would have been a better place to live and dream on……remember the Lennon number…..”Imagine….
Gandhi’s heart was in the right place, but he underestimated the brutality of Nazi Germany and the general legality with which Jews purchased land in Palestine. I can hardly fault him for these oversights. However, if the hypothetical European Jew who took his advice in 1938 was most likely murdered, while the hypothetical European Jew who read the writing on the wall and migrated to Palestine most likely survived.
That is not to say that Israel was justified in all its actions, but in my opinion I’d have preferred to be alive and labeled an aggressor than to be cremated at the hands of the Nazis.
Thanks for the post.
