Best kebab joints in Kuwait

Best kebab joints in Kuwait

When it comes to Arabian food, nothing beats a great kebab roll/sandwich/platter. Kuwait has its own share of great kebab joints. What makes some of them better than the rest is the taste, pricing, servings, and environment. Here is a list of some the kebab joints that I have been to and like in Kuwait. These joints are listed in no particular order…they all offer something different yet appetizing…

Kebab Ji

A chain of kebab joints located at prime locations like City Center, Fahaheel expressway [route 30] and Maidan Hawally, they are easy to spot with their well placed advertising. Kebab-ji offers excellent kebab rolls and kebab platters, and the kebab servings come with in-house baked bread. Although the kebabs lack strong flavors, yet they leave a fulfilling dining experience. The chicken kebab rolls are amazing. Kebab-ji joints offer decent dine-in experience for family. They offer home-delivery option nearly all over Kuwait.

Bader A-Badoor

A tiny obscure  joint located in Beneid al-gar [behind Le Meridien on Gulf road], is a favorite of all generations, classes and masses. Its one of those joints which you would normally mistake for ‘another kebab joint’, till you have tried their kebab sandwich. The popularity of this joint and its kebabs can be easily understood when you have to wait in your car for around 30-45 minutes for your order especially over the weekends. The kebabs are crisp, falvored with mild spices, served in hot-dog buns with salad. Sorry no seating and no home delivery is available, just be prepared to wait for a car park space before you can even order anything.

Hujja Kebabs

This is another kebab joint located on Route 30 [towards city center]. Its between the embassies area and Al-Salam hospital. The approach is tricky to this joint, butif you are near Salam hospital, just ask for hujja and someone will definetly point it out for you. There is parking space available. When I walked into this joint, it seemed like a butchers shop, but that is only part of the whole joint. They offer both kebabs and shewermas, and by the looks of it, most of the orders placed here are home delivery or bulk ones. Kebabs are fantastic and served in hot-dog buns minus the salad filling. Kebabs taste a tad milder than Bader Al-badoor kebabs. The kebabs sort of melt in your mouth, which for me means well done. I believe the kebabs are available during evening hours only and there can be a long wait before your get your order. Even shewermas here are great in taste.

Maaroosh

This joint is located on the fringes of Salmiya market, near to the Salmiya fire department. At the junction where 4th ring road ends in Salmiya, take a left towards the Gulf road. About 10-15 meters from the junction look on the right hand side, and follow the traffic chaos into Maarosh. Another joint that is hugely popular and has amazing kebab offerings. I love the chicken and regular kebab platters as they are served with salad, dips, and hamous. The kebabs are bite size, rich in flavor, and well done. One can enjoy these kebabs without the bread. They also offer shewermas and other Arabian dishes.

Kebbeh wa Kebab

This is also chain of kebab joints spotted near shopping malls.I love the one next to Lulu shopping mall in Shuwaikh, on 4th ring road. Small joint with decent seating capacity, they have by far the strongest flavored kebabs. The kebabs are great for those who like spicier offerings. Just beware of yellow fingers from turmeric after you have gobbled up the kebabs. The kebab platters are best options and all the kebab offerings are served with freshly baked Iranian bread. They offer home delivery too.

These kebab joints are mostly located between Kuwait city, hawally, Shuwaikh and Salmiya, so in case you have some preffered joints in other areas like Farwaniya, Fahaheel, Mangaf, do drop in your comments and details.

  • Pringles produced by Procter & Gamble, were first sold in the United States in October of 1968
  • Pringles name was chosen from a Cincinnati telephone book, selecting Pringle Avenue in Finneytown, Ohio for its pleasing sound
  • Pringles are advertised in the United States with the slogan “Everything Pops with Pringles”, and in the UK and elsewhere with “Once you pop, you can’t stop.”
  • The man on Pringles logo, with a large moustache and parted bangs is commonly known as “Julius Pringles”
  • In the United States, Pringles are not marketed as potato chips, but rather “potato crisps”
  • The crisps are made to a uniform size and a hyperbolic paraboloid saddle shape
  • Because of the metallic interior and long, tubular shape, the cans have been used to make Wi-Fi network antennas, known as cantennas
  • Fred Baur, who designed the Pringles potato chip packaging system, requested that a portion of his ashes be buried in one of the iconic cans. His family granted the request.
