@Amjed: Yep the Holy Kaaba is opened twice a year for cleaning, and many international dignitaries are allowed inside for the cleaning. The keys to Holy Kabaa are kept with a local tribe called Bani Shaybat. This practce takes place before Ramadaan and again before Hajj.

Alhamdolillah I have been inside Kaabah Shareef. I was in Jeddah and my friends told me they were doing some repair inside Kaabah. So I tried my luck and went to Makkah early in the morning. I was fortunate to be able to go inside. I prayed in all direction as you can pray in any direction inside Kaabah. There was a wooden box and if I remember it correctly, the floor was of stone. But in the recent pictures, I see that the inside is much changed. I had gone there in late seventies.

first of all, why god need a house? does god stay in the house? in addition, more than 5 times kaaba was reconstructed due to flooding and stormy weather. If its Allah’s house, can Allah protected his own house? Why would allah allowed his own house destroyed?
Thanks for the pics of the Kaaba. It is a remarkable building to say the least. But to you hate mongerers trying to get that picture taken off of Wikipedia – I understand it is forbidden FOR YOU. Not for me, and I’ll look at whichever pictures I please. Don’t the words taste like a lie in your mouth to say that Wikipedia hosting that image has hurt “trillions of Muslims worldwide”? If that were true, it would not be necessary to link to the article in question would it? And, if this is such an important issue, do you really think that 1. It is necessary to lie since you undoubtedly have Allah’s help 2. A good idea to lie since Allah is certainly watching you and knows you are lying 3. A good idea to represent your faith to the international community as one of liars and people pretending offense? Most of these people wouldn’t even have seen that picture if YOU hadn’t told them to go see it. I would humbly submit that your actions do far more harm to Islam than Wikipedia’s.

I think the pics are partly true.Specially the second pic(inside).But if you increase the resolution of first and third pic you will see they have been edited.
My father bought a video from Saudi which shows that the King of Saudi going inside Kaaba.I am not against anyone but I think Islam is followed and protected by common people like us not by any Royal Blood.The King as the right because they control Saudi Arabia.
First pic showing Musharaf is fake,you can see it if u increase the resolution after saving the pic.
Does anyone know that even Our Dearest Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) was denied for the key of Kaaba? But after the victory of Mecca, Our Dearest Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) took the key from the same family and after prayer,HE returned it to them.That family later on reverted to Islam.
May Allaha guide and help us in the age of darkness when Islam is seen with so much of hate.

i want able to say any thing as i saw the inner view of th kaaba. i cant explain my feelings.i just want to say that every muslim in the world must have the equal right to visit it. this VIP culture serves as the barrier to enter islam. islam preaches the equality.

First they demolish the simple & humble house of our prophet which was close to the Kaaba during expansions in 1992-93 to install bathrooms??????
Next,the interiors of the HOLY KAABA had to be renovated to look like modern day 5 STAR ????
WHY CANT THEY JUST LEAVE THE PROPHETS(pbuh)& OTHER HISTORICAL THINGS OF ISLAMIC IMPORTANCE AS THEY ARE UNTOUCHED & UNCHANGED(as they are Ignorant about a thing called PRESERVATION of Cultural Heritage.The life of all prophets was of hardship,difficulty & SIMPLICITY.

Wow, I never knew that the Kaaba was open to international digniteries. My aunt has piece of the golden black cloth that covers the Kaaba. Her husband works in Saudia Arabia and knows the individual incharge of replacing it each year.

Holy Kabba and Masjid Nabwi these belongs to God, why they give special treatment to state presidents. If he is president or some VIP personality he is in his country not in Makkah and Medinah. He is indivdual like any other. There should not be any protocol in these Holy places. All are equal there.. stop this act which is not related to our Sunnah also..

Got the picture by email and questioned its authenticity.. Distinctly recall being told: no one sees inside of the Kaaba? Naively believed the cleaners go in ‘blindfolded’ to sweep the inside! Expectations had led me to believe that the inside would be a simple affair.. bricks and mortar no less. Interior resembles a hotel lobby thanks to renovations. Still have mixed emotions but remain saddened by this..
askm to all, i was told that if a you do go inside and look up you will see heaven and look down you will see hell. and only this applies to the people who have good iman. is that true. to see the inside is just a wonderfull thing to see. I was told there is only 3 pillars inside and they were correct. I have done my Hajj there and Alhamdulillah everything went perfect. Wish to go there again someday.

my grandfather entered the Kabbah once and he’s no king or prince. The Saudi family shouldn’t be allowed to get inside, they are wahabies, they believe that God is like the creation, they say that God has a body!! Only the King of Saudi, and his assistants, are allowed to enter the Holy Kabaa. For cleaning purposes. Security assistance provided by his military, for obvious reasons! Amazing and rare photos! No God Doesn’t need a house . God is everywhere . Kabbah is the central point as to unite Muslims no matter where they live to worship in one Language towards One direction to One God . Kabbah symbolize Muslim unity that no matter where u r whether in North ,,south , East ,west U worship One God . No matter what color u r . No matter what Language u speak u r Creation of One God . Previously Muslims use to pray in the direction of Jerusalem. However Muhammad peace be upon wished that Kabbah should be made the direction of Muslim central point . God Listened to his prayers and Direction was shifted to KAbbah . At this the non believers idol worshippers, Christians, Jews etc laughed at Muslims and said that Muslims all previous prayers are wasted as they were praying in the wrong direction . Allah gave them reply with the following Words . in the Quran:
{The fools among the people will say: “What has turned them from the Qiblah(direction.) to which they were used?” Say: To Allah belong both East and West; He guides whom He pleases to a Way that is straight. } (Al-Baqarah 2:143)

Makkah In The Scriptures
The Qur’ân talks about Bakkah (the older name of Makkah) being the first house of worship appointed for mankind. It also addresses this place as Umm ul-Qurâ i.e., Mother of the Settlements.
Verily, the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-’Alamin (the mankind and jinns). In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim (Abraham); whosoever enters it, he attains security. And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka’bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allah], then Allah stands not in need of any of the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns). [Qur'ân 3:96-97]
The Bible also mentions about the valley of Baca in connection with the pilgrimage. Below is the quote from Psalms 84 (NIV):
1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young– a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
8 Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob.
9 Look upon our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one.
10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
12 O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.
The interpretation of the valley of Baca in the The Jewish Encylopedia is quite interesting, though it does not provide a complete evidence and leaves the reader with a suggestion. Below is the full quote.
Baca, The Valley Of: A valley mentioned in Psalms LXXXIV:7. Since it is there said that pilgrims transform the valley into a land of wells, an old translators gave to Baca, the meaning of a “valley of weeping”; but it signifies rather any valley lacking water. Support for this latter view is to be found in II Samuel V:23 et seq.; I Chronicles XIV:14 et seq., in which the plural form of the same word designates a tree similar to the balsam tree; and it was supposed that a dry valley could be named after this tree. Konig takes Baca from the Arabian Baka’a, and translates it “lack of streams”. The Psalmist apparently has in mind a particular valley whose natural condition led him to adopt its name.[5]
The translation of Arabian Baka’a as “lack of stream” seems to throw some light on the nature of the valley before the appearance of the stream of Zam-Zam near Ka’bah which was a dry place with no vegetation whatsoever.
The Anchor Bible Dictionary does not throw any light on it, albeit, there are some suggestions in it too like the The Jewish Encylopedia. Below is the full quote.
Baca, The Valley Of (PLACE): [Hebrew 'emeq habakka'], The valley of Baca (Psalms 84:1) is either a historical place name or a symbolical expression for “deep sorrow”. The first part of Psalms 84:6 seems to mean that by “passing through the experience of deep sorrow, righteous ones can make it the source of life.” The Septuagint translated the phrase into Greek as “the valley of weeping”. The word ‘emeq “valley” has the root meaning of “deep”, so the expression may mean “deep sorrow”.
However, some have considered it as the “valley of the balsam tree” from the same word in plural form found in 2 Samuel 5:24. This is based on the assumption that baka may be a “gum-exuding [weeping] tree”. Another possibility is that the word beka’im (plural of baka) may mean “weeping wall-rocks” in the valley of Rephaim on whose tops David and his troops were waiting for the coming of the Philistine army passing through the valley below (2 Samuel 5:24).
It seems safe to seek the meaning of baka in relation to the dripping water, since we often find this word in the names related to rivers and wadis, such as Wadi al-Baka in the Sinaitic district and Baca on the wadi in the central Galilee area, W of Meroth. It is also possible to understand beka’im as the place of “weepings” of the Philistine army for their defeat by David. After all these considerations, the expression of “valley of baka” can best be taken as a symbolic expression “weeping” or “deep sorrow” which fits well in the context of Psalms 84:6.[6]
The interpretation of the valley of Baca as a “the valley of weeping” makes sense because of the distress which Hagar(P) underwent when she was left with Ishmael(P) in the barren desert with no means of living.
The two interpretations of Baca, viz., “lack of stream” and “the valley of weeping” appears to fit in the context of pilgrimage to Bakkah, the older name of Makkah where the Ka’bah is situated. Ka’bah has been a place of reverence by all Arabians before the Christian era .

The Khana-e-Khuda, is a place where Muslims turned to as a symbol that they worship Only One God, Allah j.j. and there is one stone in it which has a silver nail on it put by the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) to mark the place of birth of Ali-un-Wali Ullah.
It was then after his birth when prophet turned to Kabba in the middle of the prayer.

There are three pillars inside
There is a small table on the side to put items like perfume and incense burners.
There are two lantern-type lamps hanging from a cross beam near the ceiling
There are no electric lights inside
The interior walls are clad with marble half-way to the roof.
The entire floor is of marble except for a small portion which is called “Rukhamat Humra”.

Ali was, apart from being technically Prophet Mohammed (SA)’s cousin, he was his foster, son-in-law, constant companion and his appointed successor, which is refuted by majority of Muslims. Prophet Mohammed had inserted a silver nail on the red stone to mark Ali’s birthplace; the spot is known as “Rukhamat Hamra”. This is inside Kaa’bah.

“KAABA, the house of ALAAH in MEKKAH is covered by a black cloth called “KISWA” which is produced by and chnaged every year disinged by a special factory in MEKKAH.
Costs approximately US $ 17 MILLION.
The cloth is made of 670 kgs of SILVER and dyed BLACK. About 129 kgs. of PURE GLOD and 50 kgs. of SILVER used in writing the QURANIC VERSES over the cloth.
Total area of the cloth is 658 sq. meters.

@zeba – my dear, may be you out of history of the origin of Kaaba. even before the era of our dear prophet (SAW) Kaaba had seen series of changes and that gives the Saudi royals the courage to put it to its best today. Rasul (SAW) after the conquest of Mecca ordered to clean the Kaaba and befitting changes were made even at that time. for me, Kaaba is our pride it need to be kept clean with befitting adornment and alhamdu-lillah these people are their best in doing so.

Can someone please tell me the relationship between Islam and Freemasonry, which I thought was Jewish.
I ask here because the three columns in the Kaaba are like the three columns on the Tree of Life that Jewish Kabbalists and Freemasons use. @adely – Allah is not inside the house. He is the Most High. He is not part of this world. The Ka’aba is a sanctuary that Allah told Ibrahim (sws) to build and it was again rebuilt, but people started to put idols inside, so the sanctuary was back to how it should be after Muhammad (sws) and it kept like that since then. It’s not a house where God is inside, it’s a house that represents an union to Allah, as Muslims pray 5 times a day everyday turning to the Ka’aba.

Its amazing to know that there is a structure exactly on top of Ka'aba up in the air, where every day 140,000 of Malaekaths are doing thawaf. 70,000 comes in the morning and 70,000 join in the evening.

In pure scientific study about the Historical Muhammad raises basic questions concerning the prophet's role as a moral paragon; the sources of Islamic law; and the God-given nature of the Koran. The scientists even doubt the existence of Muhammad. Scientists say that the Koran is a not a product of Muhammad or even of Arabia, but a collection of materials stitched together to meet the needs of a later age. There was no Islam until two or three hundred years after the traditional version at around 830CE. The Arab tribesmen who conquered in the seventh century vast territory were not Moslems, but were persons who worshiped idols and are scientists call them pagans.
Even though Prophet Muhammad was born in the full light of history the earliest document date about a century and a half after his death. Not only does this long lapse of time cast doubt on their accuracy, but internal evidence strongly suggests the Arabic sources were composed in the context of intense partisan quarrels over the prophet's life. The earliest sources like papyri, inscriptions, and coins on the prophet's life, contradict the standard biography. An inscription and a Greek account fix Muhammad's birth in 552, not 570. Muhammad's career took place not in Mecca but hundreds of kilometers to the north. Yehuda Nevo. The classical Arabic language was developed not in today's Saudi Arabia but in the Levant.
Long before Islam came in to existence, Kaaba, in Mecca in Saudi Arabia was a pilgrimage site. The word Kaaba might have come from the Tamil Language which originated around 1700BC. In Tamil Nadu Kabaalishwaran temple is Lord Shiva’s temple and Kabaali refers to Lord Shiva. The black stone at Kaaba is held sacred and holy in Islam and is called “Hajre Aswad” from the Sanskrit word Sanghey Ashweta or Non-white stone. The Shiva Lingam is also called Sanghey Ashweta. So what is in Kaaba could be the same what Hindus worship. The pedestal Maqam-E-Ibrahim at the centre of the Kaaba is octagonal in shape. In Hinduism, the pedestal of Brahma the creator is also octagonal in shape. Muslim pilgrims visiting the Kaaba temple go around it seven times. In no other mosque does the circumambulation prevail. Hindus invariably circumambulate or Pradakshina, around their deities. This is yet another proof that the Kaaba shrine is a pre-Islamic. In Shiva temples Hindus always practice circumambulation or Pradakshina. Just as in Hinduism, the custom of circumambulation by muslim pilgrims around the entire Kaaba building seven times shows that the claim that in Islam they don’t worship stones is not true.
Allah was one of the deities in Kaaba long before Islam was founded. It might come as a stunning revelation to many that the word ‘ALLAH’ itself is Sanskrit. In Sanskrit language Allah, Akka and Amba are synonyms. They signify a goddess or mother. The term ‘ALLAH’ forms part of Sanskrit chants invoking goddess Durga, also known as Bhavani, Chandi and Mahishasurmardini. The Islamic word for God is., therefore, not an innovation but the ancient Sanskrit appellation retained and continued by Islam. Allah means mother or goddess and mother goddess.
The King Vikramaditya inscription was found on a gold dish hung inside the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, proving beyond doubt that the Arabian Peninsula formed a part of his Indian Empire. (Ref: page 315 of a volume known as ‘Sayar-ul-Okul’ treasured in the Makhtab-e-Sultania library in Istanbul, Turkey). King Vikrama’s preachers had succeeded in spreading the Vedic Hindu sacred scriptures in Arabia and Arabs were once followers of the Indian Vedic way of life. The annual fair known as OKAJ which used to be held every year around the Kaaba temple in Mecca and the present annual hajj of the Muslims to the Kaaba is of earlier pre-Islamic congregation. . Even to this day ancient Siva emblems can be seen. It is the Shankara (Siva) stone that Muslim pilgrims reverently touch and kiss in the Kaaba.

Since that symbol was associated with the Siva emblem in Kaaba it came to be grafted on the flag of Islam.
The Hindu Vedic letter in Sanskrit “OM” if seen in a mirror one can see the Arabic numbers 786 and this is the most sacred number for Muslims and copies of the Arabic Koran have the mysterious figure 786 imprinted on them. In their ignorance simply they do not realize that this special number is nothing more than the holiest of Vedic symbols misread and none of the Arabic scholar has been able to determine how they chose 786 as the sacred for them. In short muslims are also going around Siva Lingam at Kaaba, seven times as Hindus go around it seven times.
A few miles away from Mecca are a big signboard which bars the entry of any non-Muslim into the area. This is a reminder of the days when the Kaaba was stormed and captured solely for the newly established faith of Islam. The object in barring entry of non-Muslims was obviously to prevent its recapture. Kaaba is clothed in a black shroud. This custom also originated from the days when it was thought necessary to discourage its recapture by camouflaging it.
Another Hindu tradition associated with the Kaaba is that of the sacred stream Ganga (sacred waters of the Ganges river). According to the Hindu tradition Ganga is also inseparable from the Shiva emblem as the crescent moon. Wherever there is a Siva emblem, Ganga must co-exist. True to that association a sacred fount exists near the Kaaba. Its water is held sacred because it has been traditionally regarded as Ganga since pre-Islamic times (Zam-Zam water).

Firstly Rakib, I am not a Hindu. Secondly, i consider Islam as a sacred religion as well. You have to come out of your defensive shell to listen to what we are saying here. Kaaba is yours and we don't want another Babri Masjid happening now. I am sure most of the Hindus would also agree with that. We are not saying Islam is bad as well. All religions say God is one and i don't mean to condemn any religion here. You are right when you say Hinduism was corrupted as a lot of invaders brought along evolution of culture with them. Since Hinduism had some negative traits, the reason why people converted to Islam, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Budhists etc etc. What we are trying to say is that Kaaba was once a Hindu temple like Taj Mahal. It is recorded that Hinduism is the oldest religion and Aryans were the first race to have walked the planet.
Every religion has negatives, Islam is one of them. We all are literate people and should develop a basic understanding that we have to be Spiritual rather than being religious. All men and women are equal and it makes no sense to have restricted rights for women, which i am sure you would understand if you stop being defensive. It's about time Muslim around the world stop feeling that other religions ill treat them. People are changing religion to suit themselves and same is now happening with Islam. Kaabah is just a mere direction to pray, we would not have faced Kaabah if it was not told by ALLAH to be faced. we respect Ka'bah just as a Mosque it can do no good nor can it bad for us, we also stand on the roof of the Kaa'bah. this is just a Mosque choosen by ALLAH to be faced, otherwise we would not have done so.

It's nice you worship Kabaah. Everyone needs a direction for spirituality. Islam is generally seen as very rigid and orthodox in it’s religious views, social practices although not always fundamentalist in approach. The modern science and association with West no doubt has made impact on it. In fact, the rigid Mullahs of Islamic countries are shouting hoarse at pitch of their voice that Western cultures, way of life and modern life style and materialistic growth are adversely influencing the Muslim youth. They are very unhappy that medieval Islam is being adversely influenced. This is one of the greatest accusations of the orthodox fundamentalists against West and Christian nations (1). Inspite of rigid and orthodox leanings of the Mullahs, there is no doubt that Muslim world is being rapidly influenced by the modern life, comforts, luxuries and demands of present day. Writing on the walls can be seen in the world today. Muslims who migrated to USA and to other western nations or born and brought up in these countries are westernized in dress, outlook and disposition. They are religious and majority of them do not subscribe to rigid orthodox views. However there could be few fundamentalists too in such societies. Examples of British bred Pakistani Muslims involved in alleged hijacking and bombing plot of US bound air liners in London recently can be quoted. Such exceptions are there everywhere.
Islam prohibits any sort of idol worship, and has strict moral code in day to day life and recommends practice of veil and covering of bodies by women. Taliban are the extreme examples of Muslim orthodoxy in the world in modern times that went to the extent of measuring beards by a scale if not micrometer or vernier and flogging the men who did not adhere to the standards. Similarly, they flogged women who did not adhere to the code. Taliban destroyed Bamiyan Buddha statues on silk route in Afghanistan claiming that they represented idol worship and they were against all types of idol worship and thus these had to be destroyed (2). In 17 Th century, Emperor Aurangzeb of Mughal dynasty in India banished all types of singing and dancing in the Mughal court and these artists were summarily dismissed. All types of art, paintings and sculpture were banned and existing damaged. The emperor invaded Bijapur State in South India ruled by Shiite Adilshai dynasty and conquered the kingdom. He got all the paintings in the palace white washed and has done greatest damage to the art that could have been world heritage today had they existed (3). Aurangzeb has gone down the pages of world history as the greatest religious bigot, recluse, cruel, cunning and despotic ruler to inhabit the earth. He destroyed many Hindu temples and caused untold damage in the Indian sub continent although some historians running after official favors, titles and coppers claim that he was religious and a living Fakir (Pious Muslim). There is no dearth for such acts in India and world wide too.
Mecca and Medina are the two most important and holiest sites for Muslims world wide and greatly revered. Muslims go to Mecca and Medina to perform Hajj, one of the pillars of Islam. Of late, the historical and religious centers of Islam in Mecca and Medina are undergoing radical changes. For centuries, these areas retained their original identity, landscape and ancient look and surroundings. However modern requirements have definitely influenced these areas too. Business and demands for generating revenue for the State no doubt has overtaken the religious sentiments. Result is that Mecca is loosing its look what it had for centuries and identity as a pure homeland of all Muslims in the world. Islam was identified with Mecca and Mecca was identified with Islam.
Every Muslim turns towards Mecca five times a day, the holiest place for Islam and bows to Kaaba where Abraham is believed to have built the temple to God. Mecca is the most revered and Holy site which is visited atlesat once in life time by the Muslims and it is termed Hajj, one of the pillars of Faith. In the quest for modern business and making fast money, the surrounding areas of Kaaba are being transformed into business Malls where fast track business houses such as Starbucks, Cartier and Tiffany and H & M Top shop encounter the visitors who once only stared at the black cube that was the highlight of Mecca. The great Abraj al Bait Mall with all modern American business facilities and entertainment facilities has been built behind the great religious place soaring into sky line. This is part of US $ 13 Billion construction programme in Mecca that has promised to change entire Mecca into a city like Las Vegas of America. Now the attention of the visitor to the holy place is first drawn to the multistory soaring business towers than to the holy place itself that is dwarfed in front of the soaring towers. What a change (4). Some of the areas around the holy place that were cleared for building the great market complex reportedly included the residence of Prophet Mohammed and this was cleared and reportedly the relics were moved to some museum. When this was being contemplated, there was no iota of protest in India where large number of Muslims stay. But the same people rush to the streets, shouting at full throat, demonstrating and beating chests and indulge in violence when roadside Muslim graves or a mosque that severely interferes with traffic flow is touched by the authorities. In India, there are very large number of Muslim graves and mosques that were built in the bye gone years on the center of the roads that have become great points of traffic congestion. These have become hot points of dispute and seeing the inability of the government, Hindu temples are also being constructed on the roadside or in the center of road to counter the problem created by Muslims. These disputes are seen as a matter of convenience for Muslims who most of the times react without any rational thought. Hindus are no less after seeing the Muslims on this aspect. In the past when Israel attacked Grand mosque in Mecca, Muslims attacked Hindu temples in old Hyderabad city in India. Same people do not raise a finger in protest when Saudi Government demolishes religious places in Mecca to build great Malls and Business Houses. Saudi Arabia is the bastion for Wahaabi sect of Muslims and enjoys government patronage and support. When Wahaabi gained control of Mecca and Medina, they destroyed many grave yards in which close relatives of Prophet Mohammed were put to rest. These were seen as the centers of worship amounting to idolatry. They were to be removed as real Islam denounces idol worship in any form. However they spared the grave of Prophet Mohammed with great difficulty (5). Therefore, removal of some of the religious places in Mecca by the government without any hesitation is considered to be in tune with Wahhabi philosophy of negating any identification to a symbol of worship.
Mecca is fast changing and losing its identity associated with founding Islam and its Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Ali Al Ahmed, Director of Institute for Gulf affairs in Washington, It will have a disastrous effect on Muslims because going to Mecca will have no feeling of visiting the pious place. There is no charm any more. All you see is glass and cement.” On the otherhand, at Jabal Amar a near by place, a mountain is being completely demolished to make way for huge hotel and high-rise complex. Nearly 130 high-rise buildings are likely to come up here. Dr Irfan Ahmed of Islamic heritage foundation in UK formed to protect religious sites in Saudi Arabia including in Mecca and Medina. It was claimed that even during the rule of Ottomans, sanctity of Mecca and Medina was preserved. Infact, there was a strict code on construction in Mecca that banned construction of any building higher than the Grand Mosque. Thus there is no doubt that the sanctity of the city, the holiest place for Muslims in the world has been violated. Sadly, all this is being done under their own government sanctions and planning. Mecca was like fortress for others who were non Muslims. With modern hotels and business houses complexes coming up like in Las Vegas, it would become more an entertainment center than a religious center and this itself can be seen as a great compromise in Islam. It would soon become the happy hunting ground for pleasure seekers and sanctity would be lost. Sight seeing of the Malls and clubs and enjoyment apart from pleasure seeking would soon form the pat of the schedule for the visitors. Probably the much sanctified purpose of the pilgrimage would be defeated. But money plays great role in everything now a days and people of Saudi Arabia are no different. This transformation would be a great blow to Islam as a compromise and these would soon stir the emotions in the hardened Islamic terrorists such as Al Qaeda and Taliban (They are limited to Afghanistan). Al Qaeda has global net work and infact in the Fatwa issued by Osama Bin Laden before the attack on WTC center on 9/11, 2001; he has blamed the adverse influence of West on Islam. The transformation of Mecca into Las Vegas would be seen in very poor light by the AlQaeda and would generate bad blood against the Saudi rulers. Muslims will have no feeling of visiting the pure land of Prophet during Hajj that all most remained untouched for centuries. The sanctity of fifth Pillar of Islam could be adversely influenced and people may loose interest in visiting the place that is like any commercial town (6).
Can this transformation be seen as a compromise in the religion in modern times? Probably true. Hardliners have been shouting that West is adversely influencing Islam and its youth. What is acceptable and progressive to West can be adverse to Muslims. But fact is that the heart of Muslim holy land has fallen to the modern needs and progressive thought in a section of Muslims. This is not a small country that is insignificant. Saudi Arabia enjoys great clout in the world as the care taker of Mecca and Medina, the heartland of Islam. It is under protection of US forces and an ally of America in the region. Saudi Arabia can not be brow beaten by any one. In general, a change is taking place in Muslim masses. In countries like Iran, women are much progressive and pursue higher education till Mullahs emerged out in 1989. Iran was on the western influence. Even today many Iranians are longing for a change throwing out the Mullah rule. Emirates in Middle East are already much on progressive path. Turkey is the only Muslim nation that has kept religion from the government and the secular nation is run on western style. The restriction of veil imposed on women which is the hall mark of Islam as a religious practice is kept aside for work places and women feel highly liberated. In Turkey too, there are some sections demanding changeover to Islamic rule. But Turkey is stable and is being run on western style. Although in case of Pakistan President Musharraf is progressive and hoping to go down the history as another Ata Turk i.e. Mustafa Kamal, his ambitions will not be fulfilled. There is a strong fundamentalist military group influenced by Mullahs that is an hindrance to him. Important point to note is that there is a growing demand for change over to more modern Western style functioning devoid of clergy influenced rule. India although is a secular State, it’s Muslim masses are under iron grip of clergy and they exhibit Muslimness everywhere in face of majority Hindus to maintain their identity. They are much scared of loosing their identity as Muslims in India. They try to make sure that they are identified as Muslims by sporting beards, wearing Skull Caps, Fez caps, Turkey cap ( Rumy cap) apart from Donning Sherwani, Short Pyjama or Achkan, typical Muslim attire. Veil and Burqa (Complete gown head to toe) are rigidly followed in India. They try to speak Urdu as much as possible to make sure that they are identified as Muslims. They mostly stay at one place and in congested colonies and exhibit solidarity. It is unlikely to change in view of living with majority Hindus. One can expect major change in the outlook of Muslim masses atleast in educated class in near future. The tragedy is that fundamentalist Muslims are holding the educated and sane members to ransom in most of the countries blocking them from a change over to more liberal type of life and outlook. Changes in the heartland of Islam itself are indication of things to follow soon. The bastion of Islam has been destabilized in Mecca and its influence will be seen soon in the world at other places too. The most pious and safely protected by Arabs as the religious citadel of Islam has given way to the demand for conversion of the religious place to a commercial and entertainment capital as reportedly on par with Las Vegas in USA. Soon, the night club culture would dawn on the city accompanied by worldly sin too that is inevitable. Of course, the aspect of sin is one’s outlook at the whole thing in prevailing times. An act may be considered as a sin at one place and at other place and society it could be acceptable and considered as nothing wrong. The transformation of Mecca in to commercial and entertainment capital will be a great shock to the Muslim world and would have great impact on the outlook of Muslims and masses and slowly on the religion too. This could be seen as the loosening of the rigid hold of Islam on Muslims. Time only would tell this; probably in affirmation.

Just becoz someone hits puberty at 8 does not mean she is ready for marriage…she has the right to study and work…and not be treated like a house maid who wud just look after the husband's family kitchen and kids.

I feel, really, ashamed to reply you. Because you are always avoiding my question, not giving any reasonable response about the matters I previously asked you or gave you some references from your religious scriptures. But you are just arguing, so you may defeat me in this argument.
But mate, neither is my intention to defeat you nor do I intend to present a beautiful speech to convince you to win the battle. If you are really here to win the battle then I surrender. But if you are to take the truth then take the truth, because the truth is very clear from the falsehood. BHAGABAN (swt) asks in Qur’an, Chapter #3, Verse #71: “Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?”
And the Greatest HE (swt) says in Qur’an, Chapter #2, Verse #256, “Verily, the right path has become distinct from the wrong path.”
So before giving you feed back I will ask: why do you reject the truth following your desire and harm yourself in hereafter where the (hell) fire will be the endless companion of disbelievers?
BRAHMA (ALLAH, not the one with four heads) says in Qur’an, Chapter #22, Verse #19, “These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord: then as for those who disbelieved, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads.”
Are we not these opponents? Yes, we are.
ALLAH says in Qur’an:
“Consider not that the disbelievers can escape in the land. Their abode shall be the fire – and worst indeed is that destination.” (Chapter #24, Verse #57)
“Verily, Allah has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a flaming fire (Hell).” (Chapter #33, Verse #64)
“But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism), for them will be the fire of Hell. Neither will it have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We requite every disbeliever!”(Chapter #35, Verse #36)
“This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, the disobedient to Allah and His Messenger – disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals) will be an evil final return (fire).” (Chapter #38, Verse #55)
“But those who disbelieve and belie Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) – such are the dwellers of the fire. They shall abide therein forever.” (Chapter #2, Verse #39)
“But those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) fire, they will abide therein forever.” (Chapter #7, Verse #36)

“O friends, do not worship anybody but Him, the Divine One. Praise Him alone.”

So, you contradict your own religion by worshiping false god ie. Idol, sun, moon, cow, snake etc.
As Aurangzeb destroyed those things which are prohibited in Hinduism, he should be praised as we do.
We give respect our lady so they are put in safety under the veil as we give safety to valuables by hiding them from public and obviously it does not mean they are prohibited to get out of home. Our ladies are not public property and not market products as your ladies are; our ladies are valuable not cheap as your ladies are. Your ladies are nude, our ladies are modest. Which ladies do we respect more the modest one or the public one?
While Hindus tried to kill Buddha how can they raise question about destroying his idol by Taliban which is also a supported by hindu scripture ie. there should not be idol worship. On the other hand the arrogant world spending billions of dollar and rupees to kill living human beings, it is really unfit for them to talk about destroying idols.
If anyone changes his dress does not mean he has changed him or he has lost his identity and this is not different for the Mecca as well. Thus if the surroundings of Mecca is changed it does not affect Islam at all, not at all, not at all.

By giving some information about few countries you are trying to say that the religion of Islam is gone. Islam is a religion for all over the word, no matter some people are following Islam or not.
ALLAH says in Qur’an, Chapter #21, Verse #107: “And We have sent you (O Muhammad ??? ???? ???? ????): not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).”
Islam is not a religion only for Arabs or Turkish. It is the only valid religion from GOD for me, you, Asians, blacks and whites.
And be sure no way non-Muslims can ever be able to conquer Mecca and Medina.
Why are you so tensed about Muslims identity and clothing I do not really understand. Do you know why Muslims wants everybody should dress similar? The reason is we do not want the system of discrimination what exists in Hindu society ie. Brahman, Xatriya, baishya, shutra. You know how it goes, right?
I do not want to say anything about it then you will say, I do not respect other religions.
So we Muslims want a place where everyone treats everyone equally and obviously clothing has a great effect on it, but it is not compulsory to wear certain types of cloths, and yes we want to keep our identity even by our clothing and I do not really see that you should have any problem with others dress as you are a reasonable person and you have respect towards others. On the other hand, you know the certain type of cloth is worn by Hindu religious leaders and they try to make others to wear that dress eg. dhuti, that is not very impressive, but we do not question about it. We show our respect and we wish you as a reasonable human being respect our clothing and that is quite modest.
And after all some parts of your writing is very childish, eg. night clubbing etc. do these make your point stronger anyway? Does it make Islam down anyway? It does not. Because, those who go to club or will go to club, they will only harm themselves irrespective. I will give you an example, medical science has proved that smoking is very harmful for us, but if someone does not really care what doctors are saying and smokes cigarette, who is he harming to? Obviously he is harming himself and in no means that person makes medicine science down, but himself. What is the difference if someone does not follow Islam? It does not really matter for Islam and so many people are following Islam as it asks to follow. However, Do Hindu people not go to clubbing? They do. Is adultery allowed in Hinduism? No. So think about your own fellows. Do not show your double standard. You can say someone’s something is bad when you are not doing it. But anyway, Prophet(sm) told us that, ‘there will be a time when jina (adultery and fornication) will be wide spread.’(Sahih Bukhar, Book #3, Hadith #80) Is this not that time? And obviously it is prohibited in Islam. Whoever does it is throwing him or her in the hell fire. And personally I do not have to be worried about others because BHAGABAN(swt) will not ask me about others, but about me and whether I have conveyed the message to others what I knew and conveyed the message whoever asked me about Islam; that is what I am trying to do. No matter for me you accept the truth or not, because I have tried to do my part.
Brother do not mind, this is true that you know very little about Islam. So study about it; enlighten your life, do not just through you in endless hell fire. Your life is very important; this life is a test for us. Become a Muslim, do good deed as much as you can and try to get the Paradise where no grief will touch us insa-ALLAH.

Islam has given the equal rights to men and women but other religions what do not give anything to ladies. In some points men have more rights than women and in some points women have rights over men- over all they have equal rights given by Islam. Islam gives the property rights from both parental side and from husband side to ladies and not only that they might not share any of her wealth with anyone if she wishes also; Islam gives women the right
to study (one of the most obligatory orders for women and men),
to marry on their own choice (if any woman is widowed she may get married again, or a women can ask to get divorced if she is unhappy with her husband)
to do business being modest
to travel alone being modest.
Women are not responsible for the domestic expenses but men; men have to carry the family but women may help if they want. Soobhan-ALLAH what a great freedom our Islam has given to them. In Islam mother gets upper position than father. Subahn-ALLAH Islam gives right to women to work even in army. So there is no point in saying that Islam does not give rights to women. Some people are ‘thinking’ about equal rights now a days but Islam has already established the equal rights of women 1400 years before; so I think you are clear that Islam is far ahead than you people think.
About, marrying a young girl:
Brother this is our nature that we all are very influenced by our contemporary world. We can barely think out of it. Time changes and our mentality just cope with present. You remember our grand fathers, they used to be very reserve with our fathers, but now our fathers are very friendly with us. If we say, oh my grand dad was a very moody person; he should not have been so rude. Then I will say that is not right, because in those days it was very accepted, and our fathers would not mind for that even they were very ready to confess that relation as very perfect relation. But in our time we would not accept that, we prefer to be friendly with our fathers and in future this situation will also change; this is how everything goes.

In the same way in the time of Muhammad (pbuh) marrying a much younger girl or a much older lady was very usual matter. You may find in history that the marriage between Muhammad (pbuh) and 'Ayshah (pbuh) was not ever criticized by any then enemies of Muhammad(pbuh). Because that was how it was….
whereas, now people can not prove any error in Al-Qur'an and in Islam so they attack him on this issue that he married a much younger girl than him but it was a very simple subject in those days. This attack is just not to accept truth, to follow their ego, desire and to be winner in arguments.
And about ‘Ayshah’s (pbuh), the young girl was married by Muhammad(pbuh), right to study and work:
First of all ‘Ayshah (pbuh) is one of the mostly respected women in Islam. She was one of the most educated persons in early Islamic history where in pre-Islamic era new born girls were graved alive, this still exists in India in Hindu families. In Islam it is completely prohibited and after Islam sent down to the earth again ladies used to be mostly respected and educated as men are. Anyway, in order to inform you, this little girl ‘Ayshah (pbuh), later on, became one of the best Islamic scholars and is the best Islamic lady-scholar ever. So what do think about ‘Ayshah (pbuh) now? She would not only look after her husband's family but also was she well educated a great scholar and well established.
ALLAH says in Quran: “SAY (o Muhammad): “He is the One God. God the Eternal, the Uncaused Cause of All Being. He begets not, and neither is He begotten; and there is nothing that could be compared with Him.”(chapter: 112, verse:1-4)

hi mr historian i dont care what cnn has said but i really care about what my prophet mohammad (saw) peace be upon him has said,that is not at all for arguments and for going against it.if any girl or boy hit the puberty at the age of 8 or 10 and if she get married just because its legal according to the prophet mohammad (saw) peace be upon him,keeping into the mind aur making such niyat(mind making) definitely they will get sucess in reat of life be it doing household works or be it having baby,every thing will be normal insallah.every rules and regulation in islam is perfect nothing can be changed,i bet no one can change it bcoz perfection cant be improved.
and prophet mohammad (saw) peace be upon him said that u should study and gain knowledge so its compulsary for every one to do so.its better to get married once u hit the puberty or u get indulge in different kind of sins and unnatural works.

if the girl at age 8 hit the puberty she must be maturing fast and its quiet natural if she marry and do household works after marriage but it is also compulsary for him or her to gain knowledge
