Oh!. I thought it was the other way around. That KU was going to be acquired by Jazeera or Wataniya...!!!!
  • KU Wellwisher
I remember those old days where flying with Kuwait Airways was a privilege to me and my family. It was indeed a symbol of Kuwaiti Pride. The image over time somehow has deteriorated drastically to a point that in the last few years, i have never flown with them. I have nothing against Kuwait Airways, but i have observed them closely over the years and have been following everything including management strategies and company news.

The biggest problem right now for Kuwait Airways is that they do not have streamlined operations and definitely lack the service which is required if you want to compete on an international level. The biggest setback is that the management hierachy of Kuwait Airways is very stringent and only a few people in the management have control on major decisions. Not all staff is given a fair chance to climb the management ladder even if their are well qualified. Their own staff are treated so bad within the organization. Ask any employee about this and you should know. All this combined with a bad customer service and bad treatment at the check in counters make matters worse. I remember my friends waiting for hours in the checkin line and almost missing a flight because of their bad service.

Why is all this relevant? its because if they are planning to acquire a new company, its going to bury Kuwait Airways even more. They have already been in huge financial losses before. If customer satisfaction is not improved, sales will automatically decline further and create more losses. Then the only option left will be for Kuwait airways to be privatized or a complete new re-branding strategy with a new look and feel for everything. Only time will tell how this story will unfold!.
