Third cut in the submarine cable off Dubai..torrents down in Kuwait
Submitted by DA on Saturday, 2 February 20084 Comments
There has been a third cut in the submarine cable that feeds internet traffic and communication data from GCC countries to Europe. This has been off the coast of Dubai about 56 km out in the sea. So more internet disruptions on Saturday??
Seems torrent traffic has been cutoff in Kuwait as .torrent files are getting blocked by atleast FastTelco. Any ideas about other ISP’s? What about VOIP?

Torrents are running fine out here (United Networks) and the internet is recovering pretty well.
Can anyone get pics/proof of the torn cable? I think this whole cable cut is a joke, I just can’t buy it. :/
Its fuckin slow here in Egypt I barely can browse, and its going to take two.
On qnet, Downloads/Uploads have been quite slow, though browsing and checking emails have been stable. I think they have been doing some packet shaping or port priorities on 80. im downloading some work files , and the speed im getting is averaging 6 KBPS on my 1MB connection.
KEMS isn’t too bad, and haven’t stopped torrents.
Bit confused why data is routed via Dubai to go to Europe…
