Tikka Grill: Gulf Road Salmiya

Submitted by DA on Tuesday, 16 January 2007No Comment

So to curb my hunger pangs, I finally decided to have a Tikka at the Chicken Tikka / Tikka Grill on Gulf Road, behind Sultan Center Salmiya. As usual, I ordered for time-tested Chicken Tikka menu, 2 pieces of chicken with rice [I am not a big fries fan]. So here comes the surprises…

  1. The place has new menu, and new name Tikka Grill
  2. Salad was on the house, as far as I could remember I always paid for it
  3. Prices have increased
  4. Salad bar is surrounded by chairs, made me feel like I am in musical chair contest
  5. Big disappointment was the food, the tikka didn’t taste like the original stuff they used to serve there
  6. I had one tikka and it felt like it had just been thrown in some clay oven, was dry and bit burnt
  7. Pooris have been replaced with lebanese small khubz
  8. Rice was dry, and littered with mushrooms
  9. Will I go back there? Nopes
