Traffic week leaflets & shitty weather onslaught
Today morning while waiting at the traffic lights in Kuwait City, opposite the temperature building near Mirqab, the drivers were in for a bit of a surprise. Traffic cops was standing at the intersection with some media person, and the cops went from car to car saying a few words and handing over something. I was lucky as I was in the 3rd row from the lights because by the time he covered 3-4 cars the lights would green. Anyways the courteous cop came to my car, and handed me a leaflet in Arabic with instructions/guidelines on not to use mobile phones while driving. Then he said the same thing verbally. Kudos to the cops for the effort. Although I would suggest that they print the leaflet in at least Arabic/English because most of expats are not comfortable with written Arabic. By the way..heed the advice as the campaign slogan says “Don’t Call until You Arrive”
BTW we are in the shitty weather season already, and there seems to be no stoppage for the onslaught of sandstorms every couple of days. No point in getting your cars washed, as the weather turns them into beasts with mud marks all over. Worst part is that this season sandsotrms are coming in with bit of showers, so your clothes hanging out for drying would have nature’s tatoos all over, and so will your cars, and your balconies, and your shoes in case you took a walk outside.
