Trip to Failaka

Yesterday Me n T2 decided to visit Failaka Island.
Couldn’t have picked the worse day as weather was horribly humid, I reckon 110% humidity levels. Anyway’s here is the quick-shot trip:
-
10 am boarded Bint-Al-Khair catamaran from Marina Crescent [ KD 7.5 per person]
-
10:10 am couldn’t take the heat and suffocation of seating area, we were on deck enjoying much lacking wind
-
10:40 am touchdown at Failaka port
-
11:00 am reach Failaka Heritage Village via a double decker
-
Quick look around the island reminded me of Kuwait back in 1990 during the invasion. Totally deserted, houses exist with hardly a soul, and yes sad markings on the Iraqi bullets still visible on some walls
-
11:30 am touchbase at our chalet, a huge relief because of air-con
-
Fantastic chalets and village has nice pool
-
12:30 pm took buggy rides from the village. BIG MISTAKE !
-
12:45 pm buggy broke down, T2 had to go back and fetch the guy
-
1:00 pm had a rude argument with buggy guys for refund [KD 5 per person per hour]
-
1:10pm got a cop into the buggy affair, the buggy guys shitted in his pants and refunded
-
1:30 pm slept for 2-3 hours in chalet
-
Had tea at Ikarus Hotel, beautiful architecture
-
5 pm stroll at the beaches
-
6.30pm boarded catamaran to Kuwait City
I remembered the good old days when we used to go there. Thanks for sharing this with us.
so You got the chalet for only one afternoon ?!?!
Yeah well the trip was sort of company arranged so the arrangments were made in such a way that guests would arrive in day and leave by same evening. Anyways the place was empty so they didnt mind making some money on whatever was for offer.
tell me “Yesterday Me n my wife decided to visit Failaka Island” instead of Yesterday Me n T2 decided to visit Failaka Island. LOL….
Whats the point ?
envious LOL….coz I am not married…hehehe! wish I could get married sooon and go for trip like that with “my wife” …..gottit? lucky you!
Well enjoy your time as bachelor then, marriage is an envious trap, looks tempting from far but once into it no escapeing.
Have fun, but do take our wishes for your early marriage.
I’m thinking of bringing my family to failaka for the eid holidays. You know on where I can get a good deal on a place to stay for 5 to 7 people? Is there a local travel agent/booking office here in Kuwait that I can contact to arrange this trip in advance? Thanks a lot!
