VIVA Kuwait website opens door

VIVA the 3rd telecom in Kuwait has launched their website. Snapshot of their site is above. They are currently open for business and are offering an option to Reserve numbers starting with 55. The site is slow but is slowly coming up. There is a cattle race to reserve new numbers so the site is dragging.

Guidelines for telephone numbers:
- VIVA offers you, for a limited time only, the unique opportunity to reserve your preferred number with your own design! A fresh start with a “55”!
- Either Design and Search for your preferred number whether you are looking for a number to match your landline or current mobile number, a birth date or a precious occasion date, or simply a set of memorable numbers! Depending on availability, register your information to reserve the number for free!
- Or you can View Vanity Numbers list to choose the ideal special number that suits you best!
- Numbers are available on a first come, first served basis - VIVA can not guarantee the availability of any number. So book now while they last!
- The number booking process will run for 4 weeks, during which customers can book their numbers online or through any of VIVA kiosks
- If your number is available, providing the right contact information is important for completing the booking process
- Each Customer can book 1 number only using Civil ID or Passport Number
- Vanity numbers are available in 3 classes: Gold, Silver and Bronze
- Golden and silver numbers can only be booked with postpaid plans and using Civil ID
- A vanity number charge applies to the type of the class of the reserved number, and is shown during the booking process.
- Customers will be informed by e-mail and SMS when the SIM card is ready for pick up from any of VIVA outlets
- Customers are responsible for picking up their VIVA SIM card from any VIVA outlet, anytime during the first 5 weeks after launch - Otherwise, the number is released again and could be purchased by other customers
- Customers have to show identification form (actual ID) in order to receive the SIM card

For a telecom company to have a website which can handle the traffic load in a country with less than 4 million people is a real shame. Continue to expect shoddy , overpriced and unreliable service from yet another telecom with MOC getting their CUT along the way. Such a shame…
i cant access the web site and when i call 55102102 from my home number they told me that its wrong and when i called my mobile no one answerd from the worker
The website opened.the line imagine is visible on the left .The guidelines and polocies are also there but the reserve ur option section is not coming. Its just blank with the back ground.

I went to the airport branch. Had to wait for an hour since there was looooong queue. Most of the customers were porters. But then after waiting for 1 full hour, I got my number registered and they said they will sms me when my sim is ready. They register one number at a time. If you need more than one, you have to come back later.
When asked about the call charges, they said it is a surprise for everyone….I hope its a surprise, not a shock

On a first try i got a blank page but after pressing CTRL+F5 to refresh the page i got the website main page and searched the number as i wish… i registered in simple and easy steps.. they have sent me the confirmation to my email id too..
Now just waiting to know the price and package!

wellcome VIVA. after a longtime STC going to start a new communication system. I wish it will be more cheaper and will give more facility than others.
Seriously…like I was actually hoping for some level of service from a new company. I can’t imagine what I was smoking to think this was possible in Kuwait.
1- I couldn’t load the website after trying maybe for 6 hours.
2 - I called the 55 102 102 number, pressed 1 for English, and got some chick answering the phone speaking rapid arabic. I asked her “Do you speak English?” She said “Okay” (lolol)
4- I told her, cannot connect to the website - trying for 6 hours, she giggles and tells me “maybe there is load” (Load of BS maybe?) - and tells me to hit refresh, like after six hours hitting refresh is going to magically make the website load.

I have got connected to the site the very first time I logged on to the site. In fact, the site has very less information. I hope the company is not just trying to fill all the bookings and finally shock the customer with Sky-scraping rates.
I guess there will be less Congestion on the site if the customers are given the right information.

When I heard another mobile operator coming in Kuwait I was so surprised.
But I would like to tell all of you that VIVA or Wataniya or Zain these mobile operators can not compare with Indian telecom operator. As Indian mobile operators giving more chance to their customer to enjoy calling with their family and friends, 10 to 50 paise per local call in India? Unbelievable…..
I know such as offer cant give to their customer in Kuwait but at least Kuwait telecom operator should drop off the prises for international call and should be made incoming call freeee
Please make sure that you atleast provide the best and low call rate service to the people unlike the watania and MTC they are looting the people….even for call recieving the 3rd world is not charging the rate but this two companies do!!!!
I read in newspaper that VIVA will start its operation from Wednesday Dec 3 2008. But I still do not have any idea about the sim cards. They said thay would send sms to people when their sim cards are ready.

because of VIVA, the only good thing that happend for us is the incoming call made to be free by all other mobile operators.
VIVA has not met its advertising commitment. there are lot of hidden charges for customer.
i surprise to see most of the people returned without getting the SIM when the counter staff say you have to pay KD 15 and that will be expired during February 09. So where is the life time talk and free SIM. they give you only 1 fils savings than other lines, but that will not be the seeling point.
VIVA dissapointed us.
Riyas what about sms charges?? Is it the same as other networks or different? Does Viva charge less than 20 fils for local and 50 fils for international messages?? and also let us know about MMS charges. Thanks
