..So the buzz of cloverfield is peaking now, as we approach 01-18-08 release date. The mega monster movie is creating all the good hype through viral marketing. Everyone who has watched the trailers seems intrigued by the monster. So here is my 2 cents in taking a shot at the guessing game. Well the guess is from the screengrabs of the trailer I have seen so far..the following screens got my attention…watch that girl in the middle silhouette..and watch her belly hyper-inflate literally! If you look at the video it happens in 2-3 seconds..so watch closely

good call. I was thinking the same and came across your blog entry by typing “Is cloverfield a parasite?” into google. I haven’t been following the hype around this movie at all…in fact, I didn’t even know what it was until a week or so ago. I saw the trailer and thought the same thing you’re thikning…if you listen closely, isn’t that one of the scientists yelling out something about someone being bitten or “We’ve got a bite!”…???
If it is a parasite, I’m dying to know how it grows from something that could burst from a human to the size of the monster depicted in the destruction and carnage scenes in the trailers…pretty interesting.
It seems to me cloverfield is almost like “the thing”
Actually the trailers are disapointing. The fact that they tease you like that only puts up a warning flags indicating the movie sucks, at least in my mind. I won’t see it opening night. I’ll catch it when it gets to the rental stores.
Wow a parasite??? thats insane soo if thats the case the plot for this movie betta be pretty good. The movie is getting a pretty good amout of hype but if this movie bombs then J.J. better go into Hiding. LOL
I was thinking that the movie could be based on “Call of Cthulu”. The 1920’s novel?

actually your all correct and incorrect, the movie does have a parasite. in conclusion the the monster is actually the carrier for a parasite that leeches to you. if u listen in the trailer you will here a strange sound that the characters remark. that is the parasite that the monster carried.
the movie was soo confusing! nothing got explained properly, but it was kind of cool! as far as parasite??? i mean it could be some AVP kinda thing it gets in u then grows n burst out!!! but i mean who ever saw it u kno wat happen to dat gurl!!! wtf???

that is just wrong…that is a classic monster movie that is awesome, the original from John Carpenter CLOVERFIELD SUCKED, PLAIN AND SIMPLE, do not waste your time or money seeing this garbage.
well i saw the mnovie and i thought it was pretty good. IT had a bunch of action in it. And if u pay attention at the srart right b4 the lights in the theatre go out ull c a couple frames saying top secret gouverment experiment CLOVERFIELD set in place formily known as central park.BUT i have to admit it was very confusing about the little monster spawns and the chick blowing up. I would only watch this movie gain if i didnt have to buy it.

i.e. the whole film youve jsut seen (pretyt much i think(im middle of watching it now) is the camera that was found in central park…
that monster is just a baby and the little things that fall form it are “parasites” and they carrie a deseas no one has ever encountered. the monster woke up because at the end u can see a sattelite falling at the wter and then a big splash at the background. it woke up it was confused end of story.J.J u suck!!!!

i just watched the film at cinama.. and i must say im more confussed then wen i saw the traliers.. it was a gd film. wi all the action, bt i realli dnt get it. must make another with another point of view.. amke it clear lol
i think this film was the 2nd moive in a 3 part set cus in the begining is shows the government watching the film that HUD was recording and it was a a gerogelucuse film if u watch the end credts and its just seems like that the goverment fuckd somethin up and thats why we droped the hammer on are own ground wit are own men still ther

cloverfeild is surrpost to be a baby what ever it is and when it comes form the water the people start shooting at it but most of the things like grashing into buildings like take when the tail hits the brige that was accutly surrpost to be an accident the baby didnt know what it was doing and of course if someone is shooting at you or hurting you your first reaction is to protect your self which is really what the baby was doing it didnt really mean to hurt anyone
