Wikipedia’s entry on Prophet Mohammed [PBUH] has images which clearly shows face of the Prophet. The surprising part is that the paintings are done by Muslim artists..Abu Rayhan Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Biruni and Rashid ad-Din Fadhlullah Hamadani

According to wikipedia, it was common to depict the Prophet [PBUH] in Islamic art until the 16th century.
@shosho: Yeah true, but isnt this a bit surprising as its a known fact that Prophet [PBUH] himself had clearly stated no pictorial depictions of him or Allah should be made. I wonder how many more images exist. Also we may never know if there are far more realistic images available.

muhammad never stated not to make pic from him.that’s what’s extremesist beleive in it.if you beleive in tuhid.the only one not to be resembeled is god in any way since he is unique.muhammad is a humam that’s it .who ever beleive in being exceptinal for muhammad consider “shirk” to God
I can understand not drawing Allah - for how can we ever imagine what he is like, he is a greater being than we can possibly imagine and so we should not try and represent him or lower him by putting him in human form. but Muhammad (pbuh) was a human, just as Jesus was and the other prophets. therefore we should be able to draw him if needed, I know Islamic children who have drawn Muhammad and been told off, yet they are just expressing themselves.
Muhammed (pbuh) is subject to the slings and arrows of modern times. Get used to it.

We understand that he is a human,but making photos will ultimately result in his worship.people will start worshipping him in future at one point or other just like they worship Jesus.So Please stop drawing our beloved prophet, rather follow his sunnah right from the heart

I understand that you respect the OPINIONS and freedom.but We were told not to draw our lovely prophet in order not to be worshiped like Jesus(pease for all of them).And even we couldnot draw Jesus and all the prophets and these some kind of respect for the prophets.SURE iam against the violence because it wouldnot find solution in miss understand between Muslims And the others.AND MAINLY BECAUSE PROPHET MOHAMMED saw alot of Injury when he was alive against him and didnot use violence because GOD told him in Quran that he (Prophet Mohammed)was sent to be the mersy for all the humans.I respect the DIALOGUE NOT THE VIOLENCE. making the picture of our Beloved Prophet Mohammad(PBUH)is very very big sin,and it is a such sin which can become the cause the war between muslims and others.So others religion’s followers dont hurt our feelings otherwise this world will be destroyed and peace of the universe will be very bad.
